How to Find Your CPR Certification: What to Do If You Lost Your Card

How to Find Your CPR Certification: What to Do If You Lost Your Card

You finished your CPR class, but now you can't find the certificate anywhere. Maybe you deleted the email, changed email addresses, or simply can't remember where the certification was sent.

Don't panic. If you're trying to find your CPR certification, there are several steps you can take before registering for another class.

Focus Health students who completed an American Red Cross course can use the Red Cross certification lookup process to retrieve their certification.

Check Your Email First

The first place to look is the email account you used when registering for your course.

Search for terms such as:

  • American Red Cross

  • Red Cross

  • Certification

  • Certificate

  • Focus Health

  • Course Record

Don't forget to check your spam, junk, promotions, or other filtered folders.

Focus Health notes that American Red Cross certifications are emailed directly to students after processing, so checking the email address associated with your course is an important first step.

How Long Does CPR Certification Take?

If you just completed your course, you may simply need to wait.

Focus Health currently states that American Red Cross certifications typically take 2–3 business days to process after a class. The certificate is then emailed directly from the American Red Cross.

That means you shouldn't necessarily assume something went wrong if your certificate doesn't appear immediately after class.

If you've waited the expected processing time, check your spam folder and then use the certification lookup option.

Use the Red Cross Certification Lookup

If you're looking for a CPR certification lookup, Focus Health provides a dedicated page that directs students to retrieve their certificate through the American Red Cross.

You can visit the Focus Health Find My Certification page and follow the certification download instructions.

This is often the easiest option if you completed your class but can't locate the original email.

What If You Need Your CPR Card Immediately?

Sometimes you don't have several days to wait.

Maybe a new employer needs proof of certification before your first day. Perhaps you're starting clinical hours or your current certification is about to expire.

Focus Health currently offers an expedited certification option for an additional $15 upon request.

If you need expedited processing, contact Focus Health as soon as possible rather than waiting until the last minute.

What If You Can't Find Your Certification?

If you've searched your email, checked your spam folder, and used the certification lookup but still can't find your record, contact the organization that provided your training.

Have the following information available if possible:

  • Your full name

  • Email address used for registration

  • Approximate course date

  • Course type

  • Training location

  • Instructor name, if known

The more information you can provide, the easier it may be to locate your course record.

Don't Automatically Take the Class Again

If you're unable to locate your certificate, don't immediately assume you need to repeat the course.

Your certification may still be valid even if you don't have the physical or digital certificate in front of you.

A missing card and an expired certification are two different problems.

First, attempt a certification lookup and contact your training provider. You may be able to retrieve documentation without repeating training you've already completed.

Keep Your Certification Somewhere Safe

Once you find your CPR certificate, save it somewhere you'll be able to access later.

Consider:

  • Downloading the PDF

  • Saving it to cloud storage

  • Forwarding it to a personal email

  • Keeping a copy with employment documents

  • Setting a calendar reminder for renewal

This can save you time the next time an employer or organization asks for proof of certification.
